The Friends of the Library  is a national network of enthusiastic library supporters who believe in the importance of libraries as the social and intellectual centers of communities. No one has a stronger voice for libraries than those who use them, raise money for them, and govern them. By uniting these voices, library supporters everywhere will become a real force to be reckoned with at the local, state, and national levels.

The Whiting Public Library's Friends of the Library follow in this rich history.  Throughout the year they provide the library with financial and physical assistance in a variety of ways.  They hold two book sales, as well as, several entertaining programs for the community.  All proceeds generated through the Friends are donated to the Whiting Public Library.
